A high-density information record comprises a stamped thermoplastic (e.g., vinyl) disc having a constant-width spiral surface groove, the center-to-center spacing of successive closely spaced convolutions of the groove spiral being substantially constant and independent of the recorded information. The recorded information appears as an information track constituting variations in the geometry of the groove bottom along its length. Playback apparatus employs a stylus having a tip conformed to be received in the disc groove in engagement with smoothly curved side walls of groove. As a disc-supporting turntable rotates, the stylus rides in the groove passing over successive dimension-varying information track elements in the groove bottom, which serve to vary the capacitance presented between a conductive electrode incorporated in the stylus tip and a reference conductor (e.g., a conductive surface of the disc-supporting turntable). The capacitance variations occurring during playback are translated into electrical signal variations by appropriate circuitry. Per illustrative embodiment, inexpensively replicated video disc of appreciable playing time is subject to playback by above-described techniques.

Such a device has a relatively simple design, however, it is not possible to provide sufficient simplicity of its maintenance process.
It is also known a device for reproducing a video signal containing 15 video plate made with a spiral groove at the bottom of which is located a recording track having. a variable relief proportional to the vipeocygnal and a reproducing needle mounted 20 with the possibility of relative longitudinal movement in a spiral groove made with inclined opposite side walls having a curvilinear shape and mating 25 with the sides to reproduce ; giving needle C 2].
This device allows for the relative simplicity of the process of its ob—. neither am I serving.
The disadvantage of such a device is the significant error of the result ‘reproduction of the video signal.
The purpose of the invention is to reduce the error of the result of the video signal.
This goal is achieved by the fact that rep *. the exhausting needle is made with a ribbon-shaped electrode symmetrically located in it, the width of which is equal to the width of the recording track, while the reproducing needle is mounted with the ability to move at the same height from the inclined opposite inclined side walls of the spiral groove, the distance between which is constant along the spiral groove.

The device also contains a reproducing needle 4 mounted with the possibility of relative longitudinal W movement in a spiral groove 2 made with inclined opposite side walls 5. The inclined opposite side walls 5 of spiral groove 2 have a curved 15 shape and are conjugated with the sides of the reproducing needle 4.
The reproducing needle 4 is made with a tape-shaped electrode 6 symmetrically disposed in it, the width of which is about the width of the track 3 of the recording. In addition, the reproducing needle 4 is installed with the ability to move at the same height relative to the inclined opposite side walls 5 of the spiral 25 groove 2. Moreover, the distance between the inclined opposite side walls 5 is constant along the spiral groove 2.
When the video signal is reproduced, a relative longitudinal movement of the reproducing needle 4 in the spiral groove 2 occurs due to the rotation of the video plate 1 located on the electrically conductive disk, not shown in the drawing. In the process of this movement, the reproducing needle 4 is always at the same height relative to the inclined opposite side walls 5 of the spiral groove 2. Moreover, between the reproducing needle 4 and the recording track 3 there is always some air gap. The formation of the video signal is ensured by changing the capacitance between the tape-shaped electrode 6 and the electrically conductive disk in accordance with the change in relief ”, track 3 of the recording.
Using the invention allows to significantly reduce the error in the result of video signal playback.

Claim
A device for reproducing a video signal containing a video plate made with a spiral groove, the bottom of which is a recording track having a variable topography proportional to the video signal, and reproducing a needle mounted with the possibility of relative longitudinal movement in a spiral groove made about inclined opposite side walls having curvilinear shape and mating with the lateral sides of the reproducing needle, due to the fact that, in order to reduce the error of the result The playback / reproducing needle is made with a tape-shaped electrode symmetrically located in it, the width of which is equal to the width of the recording track, and the reproducing needle is installed with the ability to move at the same height relative to the opposite side walls of the spiral groove, the distance between which is constant along the spiral groove.
